Introduced in 2013 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and officially launched in 2015, the Porsche Macan has been billed by the carmaker as the ideal vehicle for people who want all the attributes of a sports car but who need a bit more room to accommodate their busy lives. Available as a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 with 340 horsepower and a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 with 406 horsepower, both engine sizes return 17 MPG in the city, 23 MPG during highway driving and a 19 MPG combined. The Porsche Macan comes in three distinct trim levels – the S, GTS and Turbo.
S Model: With a sticker price starting at $58,300, the S Model comes with a long list of standard features including all-wheel drive, 7-speed PDK automatic transmission, eight-speaker audio system, dual exhaust, power folding mirrors, Lane Departure Warning system, bi-xenon automatic headlights with an automatic leveling feature, piano black interior package, three-zone automatic climate control, comfort seats with Alcantara seat centers, Porsche Communication Management with a seven-inch touchscreen, automatic rear hatch, 19-inch alloy wheels, all-wheel drive and power front seats with driver memory. Add the Premium Package of optional features for $2,590 and enjoy auto-dimming mirrors, Porsche Dynamic Light System, heated front and rear seats and Bose surround sound. The Porsche Active Suspension Management and air suspension can be added for an additional $2,745 or choose the Porsche Active Suspension Management by itself for $1,360.
GTS Model: The model GTS starts at $67,200 and includes the following standard features in addition to those found on the S Model: GTS Sports seats, Sports exhaust system with black tailpipes, bi-xenon headlights in black, complete with the Porsche Dynamic Light System, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management and a GTS leather package with Alcantara armrests, door armrests, center console and seat centers. Several notable packages and options are also available including the Porsche Communication Management System with Navigation for an additional price tag of $1,730, front vented seats for $660 and LED headlights for $540. The Sport Chrono Package can be added for $1,290 while Lane Change Assist and Lane Keep Assist will add an additional $1,380 to the total price tag.
Turbo Model: Starting at $73,900, the Turbo model offers drivers the below standard features over the ones found in the S Model. LED fog lights, Bose 14-speaker audio system, Porsche Dynamic Light System including bi-Xenon headlights, bigger brakes, 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, Alcantara roof liner, Porsche Active Suspension Management, unique 19-inch wheels, 18-way sports seats with adaptive feature and a comfort memory package, unique exhaust system, Navigation system, leather package and a unique exterior appearance. A Premium Package Plus is available for an additional $3,590 and includes front vented seats, proximity keyless ignition, auto-dimming mirrors, Lane Change Assist, panoramic roof and Lane Keep Assist. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes can be added to this trim level for an additional $8,150.
