You can get and use Porsche Connect for a wide selection of Porsche vehicles, including:
- 718 Boxster
- 718 Cayman
- 911
- Panamera
- Macan (not available in the Macan Turbo)
- Cayenne (Connect Plus is standard with the Cayenne Platinum Edition)
What Can Porsche Connect Do?
Simply put, Porsche connect allows you to stay connected with your car, even when you’re at home, at the office or elsewhere outside of your car. Many of its functions are major time savers, allowing you to save time for the more enjoyable things in life (driving your Porsche comes to mind).
Some of the major functions of the Porsche Connect App are:
- Trip planning. Porsche Connect offers a variety of trip planning features that allow you to plan your route and other aspects of the trip from your tablet, computer or phone.
- Porsche monitoring. If you can’t stand to have your Porsche out of your sight (and we understand if you feel that way), the Porsche Connect App allows you to view your car’s data and statistics from anywhere.
- Stats. Keep track of travel distance, average speed, fuel consumption and more right from your smartphone or Apple Watch.
- Carfinder. If your Porsche is lost or stolen, it can be located using Porsche Connect.
- 360-degree route preview. Helps you get where you’re going faster by allowing you to preview your route using Google Street View.
- Hands-free messaging and calling. Apple CarPlay allows you to send messages hands free so you can concentrate on driving your Porsche.
- Siri voice recognition. Lessens disruptions by allowing you to control a wide variety of features using voice commands while you drive.
- Your news, your way with Porsche Connect Portal. Keep up with sports scores, events, politics, technology and more. You configure your news to get the alerts you want and eliminate the ones you don’t.
- Vehicle Tracking System. Prevents theft by notifying you and a 24/7 Security Operating Center if your vehicle is moved.
- Real time traffic info.
- Turn on heat, AC, lock doors, fold in your mirrors and more remotely.
- Calendar. Check appointments and other commitments right from the driver’s seat.
- App destinations. Synchs with your calendar to get you right where you need to be for your next appointment.
- Internet radio/Premium music services. Whether you wanna rock or ant the symphony, Porsche Connect has you covered.
Essentially, your Porsche Connect App turns your smartphone into a co-pilot, helping you to stay connected to the world around you while also helping you to stay connected to and aware of your car while you’re away. No more worrying about your Porsche being stolen.
Connect Plus Adds Even More Features
Add the Connect Plus module and you get even more features to maximize your connectivity while driving your Porsche. The Connect Plus includes all the features of Porsche Connect and adds integrated wireless Internet, allowing you to turn your car into an Internet hot spot. Passengers can surf the ‘net while you’re driving and you can surf along with them while parked (we don’t, of course, recommend doing so while you are driving, other than using Siri). Connect Plus also adds Infotainment and navigation services. The app does require an LTE phone with a SIM card reader.
